UNAFFECTED BY DUST, HIGHLY STABLE & ACCURATE MEASUREMENT.
The MWS-24RF-BH Blast Furnace Level Sensor is a microwave Range Finder which consists of an antenna and controller. The sensor is installed at the top of the furnace and is used for monitoring the operation of the furnace, in real time, by continuously measuring the burden level. The mWave software also displays the level trend of the coke/iron ore rising and falling over time.

Features

Unaffected by heavy dust

  • Heavy dust accumulation on the antenna reduces the signal power, resulting in false or inaccurate measurements. However, WADECO has developed a unique, specially designed and highly effective N2 purging system to prevent the buildup of dust on the antenna surface, thus ensuring accurate and reliable measurement over extended periods of time (PAT.)

High accuracy and reliability

  • 24GHz operating frequency results in sharper beam angle, thus improving the accuracy of the measurement trend: the smaller antenna size also simplifies installation.
  • Due to the high S/N ratio, stable measurement is achieved even when the surface of the coke/iron ore is sloped or the reflected signal is very weak.
  • ±5mm accuracy on flat metallic surface (approx. ±30mm on sloped coke/iron ore surface).
  • Utilizes filters which eliminate spurious signals.

The operational state is shown on your personal computer

  • The mWave Software displays the FFT spectrum, received signal and various preset values
  • The received signal, FFT spectrum and the trend measurement are continually displayed. This displayed data can be recorded and reviewed in real or accelerated time.
  • Use of the recording and reviewing capabilities allows the system parameters to be optimized offline.
  • The display indicates and the controller outputs the internal temperature and any abnormal conditions (i.e. a lowering of received signal power, rising temperature in the controller and communication failures).

Convenient built-in functions

  • A reference point and the required range are easily preset.
  • Compatible for use with a personal computer.
  • Automatic power supply 90~240V, 50/60Hz.
  • Communicates with a Personal Computer by RS-232C.
  • 4-20mA, analogue output.
  • RS-422 digital output terminals (distance, receiving power level, temperature and alarm).

Comprehensive stand alone system

  • No additional hardware/software is needed as all signal processing is done in the controller.
